Description: The complete redesign and migration of Creighton University’s student newspaper from the BLOX hosting platform to a modern WordPress and Elementor site.
My Role: In collaboration with one other alumnus, I co-led this project from start to finish. My responsibilities included meeting with student editors to finalize the contract and project scope, designing the new layout in Adobe XD, and then translating those designs into a functional website using CSS, HTML, and Elementor templates. A major part of the project was successfully migrating over 7,000 news stories from the old site to the new platform.
Skills Used: Web Design, WordPress, Elementor, HTML, CSS, Adobe XD, Content Migration, Client Communication, Project Management.
Outcome: The project resulted in a fully revamped and modern website for The Creightonian. The new site provides a more user-friendly experience for students, faculty, and alumni to access the latest news, and the successful migration of thousands of legacy articles preserved the newspaper’s history.

After these designs were finalized, the fun began. The work included migrating over 7,000 news stories from the legacy site to WordPress and translating our XD file into CSS, HTML, and Elementor templates.

It was nostalgic to dive back into the Creighton Bluejay blue for a while, and I am so excited to see this site up and the latest Creighton news displayed for current students, faculty, and alumni!
