Prague, the first day
We took a train from Budapest to Prague to continue our trip along Eastern Europe. Over six hours of countryside was a bit long but because of all the walking we had been doing, I think the rest served us well. Someone (me) had a totally brilliant idea to book another wine tasting because we loved our first on so much. However, after a full day of traveling and no real meal before hand, the wine wasn’t as good as the bread and cheese served with it. Once again we stepped down in to a cellar, made a new friend, and sipped on wine while we convinced ourselves we knew something about it all. Lucky for us, the restaurants stay open late so we were able to eat lots of Italian food after.
We also explored some of Old Town Square on our first night. Skylar and I agreed that this part of the city looks like a page straight out of a fairy tale. The buildings are each unique and full of color and detail. The town hall building displays an Astronomical Clock on its side. Later in the week when they were more crowds, we saw hundreds gather around to see this clock chime on the hour. The clock has lots of legends surrounding it and it\’s design has been copied by other countries around the world.
Okay so all in all a good day, busy but good.
