my skills are backed by professional experience

A significant portion of my past experience is tied to Kiewit Corporation as Managing Editor for this Fortune 500 company’s magazine. These publications included narratives strategically aligned with recruitment initiatives and enhancing brand reputation.

During my tenure at Kiewit, I engaged in crafting stories, curating layouts, managing editorial board meetings, overseeing a team of writers, and supervising the production of both online and print editions of Kieways magazine.

Beyond external content, I managed the internal editorial calendar and also contributed articles to the company’s internal employee news platform.

FINDING NEW WAYS TO MEET CHALLENGES

Putting Bay Area drivers in the fast lane

One thing all drivers try to avoid is getting caught in a traffic jam. Unfortunately, it’s been all too common for Bay Area drivers commuting to and from Silicon Valley or headed to the San Francisco Airport.

The Bay Area, stretching from San Francisco to San Jose, is home to a booming economy, but outdated highway infrastructure in the area created congested traffic on U.S. 101. The San Mateo 101 Managed Lanes project team, led by Kiewit Infrastructure West Co., has been working around the clock to get these drivers out of a jam.

Experience, exposure and excellence

For most college students receiving a scholarship, their investor’s involvement starts and ends at the university’s financial aid office. Students may write a thank you letter after four years, meet briefly at a school event or never even know who is supporting their education. Kiewit saw this and believed there was a much more meaningful way to not only invest in students through significant scholarships, but to forge a long-term partnership with the young talent — and the universities they attend.

Harvesting ions: How the Samson team is rewriting the solar playbook

You won’t get too far across the Lonestar State before coming upon a cattle ranch or row crop.

As a leading exporter, the Texas Department of Agriculture reports that 86% of its land is dedicated to agricultural production of some kind. Most often you’ll find hay, cotton or grain, but there’s a stretch of farmland across three counties in Northeast Texas that stands out a bit from neighboring fields.

“Instead of planting crops, we’re harvesting ions.”

Profile Articles

I interviewed employees to write profile pieces aimed at recruiting candidates from diverse work experience backgrounds.

In addition to my professional work, I’ve always enjoyed writing about the world around me. You’ll find some of those stories, and arguably the ones I am most passionate about telling, on my blog.
